Mid-Hudson Energy Transition (MHET), in partnership with the City of Kingston, is excited to launch the 2025 Energy Efficiency Campaigns! These campaigns are designed to help income-eligible Kingston residents save money, improve their home’s energy efficiency, and live healthier lives—all at no cost to you.
What's Included?
Starting January 1, 2025, MHET will provide eligible homeowners and renters (with landlord approval) with new energy-efficient appliances, including:
Induction Stoves
Replace inefficient gas or electric stoves to eliminate harmful indoor pollutants from gas appliances.
Available January 2025
Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH)
Upgrade to a modern water heating system that saves energy and lowers utility bills.
Available April 2025
Portable Heat Pumps for Tenants
Enjoy efficient heating and cooling in your rental home—perfect for households without control over building-wide HVAC systems.
Available July 2025

Who Can Qualify?
This program is open to low- and moderate-income (LMI) households in Kingston.
We especially encourage the following to apply:
- Households with seniors or young children.
- Residents facing high energy bills or utility debt.
- Renters who pay their own utility bills (need landlord approval)
This initiative is funded by the City of Kingston’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation. With a total budget of $250,000, we’re aiming to help as many households as possible.
Installations will be performed by qualified local contractors, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
