The HELP Fund
Making energy efficiency upgrades accessible.
The HELP Fund is a pioneering green community investment fund that introduces a new model for local, participatory investing in sustainable and inclusive decarbonization. By raising capital from community investors, innovative impact investors, and philanthropic partners, the HELP Fund fuels the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP), making energy efficiency upgrades accessible to those who need them most.
As energy costs are rising and climate change intensifies, households with low-to moderate- incomes – especially in communities of color – are struggling with high utility bills, poor indoor air quality and toxins, and are disproportionately at risk of climate-related hazards. The HELP Fund raises capital to ensure these households are included in the renewable energy transition, offering ultra-low-interest loans for healthy, energy-efficient, and climate-resilient home improvements.
The HELP Fund is being piloted in Kingston, NY and accepting investments and donations across the United States from community members, accredited impact investors, and philanthropic institutions interested in accelerating a just, local energy transition. Investors help drive climate, health, and housing justice outcomes while earning a return on their investment.
